Four student-athletes from Sequoya Middle School helped the Sachem East JV tennis team to an undefeated season in 2012.
Julie McGroarty, Emily Schatz, Sophie Hannigan and Vanessa Luutran traveled to East to participate in the JV tennis practices and compete in the all tennis matches. The girls did an outstanding job representing the Sachem district against Rocky Point, Bellport, Stony Brook, Bayport-Blue Point and Sachem North.
McGroarty (8th grade) was the first singles player, Hannigan (8th grade) was the second singles player, Schatz (8th grade) was the third singles player, and Vanessa (7th grade) was a doubles player.
Needless to say, Sachem East girls tennis has a strong and youthful future ahead.
