Thanks to the social media guile of Bob Miller, he tweeted to @SachemReport an interesting image this weekend.

He and his daughter Jordan Miller were upstate to watch Keith Kinkaid play for the Albany Devils, the AHL affiliate of the New Jersey Devils. The image was Kinkaid skating on the ice, while Jordan is in attendance.

The catch? Sachem East alum Keith Kinkaid is a goalie on the Devils and a likely replacement for legendary goalkeeper Martin Brodeur for the big club one day and Jordan is the goalie on the two-time defending state champion Sachem East field hockey team. Both have been fine representatives of Sachem and extremely talented in their respective goaltending roles.

Kinkaid is 11-7-3 this season as Albany’s No. 1 goalie. He signed as a free agent with the Devils organization in April 2011 after a stellar career at Union College.

Miller recorded 16 shutouts during the field hockey season. Sachem has also recorded nine shutouts in its last 12 playoff games spanning the last two seasons. Miller had a part in every one of those playoff shutouts, splitting time in net as a junior and starting every game as a senior.
