Sachem East baseball used a six-run second inning to jump out with healthy lead against Hauppauge in the first round of the Suffolk County Class A playoffs at home Tuesday afternoon.
The third-seeded Arrows (16-5) added more run support later in the game and beat the No. 14 Eagles (12-9), 9-7.
East will host No. 11 Longwood on Wednesday in the double-elimination playoffs.
Joe Deland led the Arrows with four hits and scored the first run of the game.
Nick Liegi recorded the victory on the mound and is now 7-1 this season.
