The state boys volleyball tournament begins on Friday in Glens Falls, N.Y. and Sachem East is one of the hottest teams entering pool play.
Knocking off undefeated Sachem North in the semis, Lindenhurst at counties and Port Washington in the Long Island finals, East is just a few short games away from its first state crown in volleyball.
The boys received a send off from the Farmingville Fire Department as their coach bus left the high school and headed towards the Long Island Expressway, horns and sirens blaring, Thursday morning.
