The Marquette men’s lacrosse team and head coach Joe Amplo, a Sachem alum, will be on Long Island this weekend as his team plays at Hofstra at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

Amplo was an assistant for 10 years at Hofstra where he also played and led the Pride to the 1999 NCAA quarterfinals.

Several Marquette players also will be making Long Island homecomings this weekend.

Marquette opened the season with a loss against Lehigh, while Hofstra is opening its season against the Golden Eagles.

Inside Lacrosse ranked Marquette with the 14th toughest schedule in the country this year.

The 2014 season marks the first for Marquette men’s lacrosse in the Big East.
