At the March 5, 2014 Board of Education meeting, the Board of Education reviewed the Sachem Facilities Study and narrowed down the options to four options which will be considered in the future. There will be no change of buildings or configurations in the upcoming 2014-15 school year. It was agreed by the Board of Education that the four options will be reviewed in detail over the next several months and may be potentially effective for the 2015-16 school year.
Option #1: Close two elementary schools and redistrict
Option #2: Close two middle schools. Move 6th grade to elementary schools
Option #3: Close two elementary schools and one middle school and redistrict
Option #4: Close Seneca Middle School. Hiawatha Elementary School will redistrict to Samoset Middle School. Grundy and Nokomis Elementary Schools will redistrict to Sequoya Middle School. Waverly Elementary School will redistrict to Sagamore Middle School.
