A fifth grade student at Merrimac Elementary School and member of the Student Lighthouse Team, Kayleigh DiBrico, facilitated and organized a Blanket of LOVE Drive at Merrimac Elementary.
Students on the Lighthouse Team created posters and Kayleigh created flyers for this school wide WIG (wildly important goal).
The students on the Lighthouse team synergized with the entire school for this service-learning project. Students are actively learning to follow Habit 8, find your voice, and inspire others to find theirs.
Kayleigh has helped students in Merrimac to make the winter a little warmer for the families at the Lighthouse Mission.
The school collected over 65 blankets for children and families in need and donated the blankets to the Lighthouse Mission in Bellport. Kayleigh helped to distribute the blankets to the children and families at the mission.
