Sachem’s Chris Isolano to perform in Carrie

downloadBroadway Workshop, New York’s top youth theatre program will present CARRIE, the musical at The Baruch Performing Arts Center from May 2-4. The performance will feature Sachem North senior Christopher Isolano, who is playing the part of Billy Nolan.

Isolano also appeared in 2010 in the Broadway Workshop pilot production of The Little Mermaid Jr. as Scuttle.  A notable fixture in many productions at Sachem North over the last four years, Isolano will be attending Pace University in the fall as a Musical Theater major.

Based on Stephen King’s bestselling novel, the musical of Carrie opened on Broadway 1988. The show’s original writers have created an entirely new reworked and fully re-imagined vision of this gripping tale. This new updated version premiered at MCC theatre in Manhattan in 2010. Broadway Workshop’s production will be the first New York City remounting of Carrie since that Off Broadway run.

The production is made up of over 50 teenaged actors who are divided into two casts.  Cast members come from throughout New York City and the tri-state area and have a wealth of Broadway, regional theatre, film and television experience.

Performances will take place May 2 at 8 p.m., May 3 at 8 p.m. and May at 1p.m. and 6 p.m. at the Baruch Performing Arts Center – At Baruch College – 55 Lexington Avenue at 24th Street.
