Varsity roundup: Mazliah records 9 points in win

Most varsity teams in Sachem were in action on Tuesday. This is the part of the season where teams start to separate in the standings. It looks like plenty of Sachem clubs will be heading to the post-season soon enough.

Here’s a look at Tuesday varsity scores:

Sachem North boys lacrosse: Sachem 12, Smithtown East 8 … Sachem was spurred by a five-goal fourth quarter and improved to 6-2 overall this season with a victory over Smithtown East on Tuesday. Jim Hoffman and Joe Caridi each had three goals to lead the Flaming Arrows.

Sachem East boys lacrosse: Sachem 16, Middle Country 6 … Sachem East is now 7-3 overall after a 16-6 win over Middle Country. Steve Panno scored six goals and had two assists in the victory.

Sachem North girls lacrosse: Sachem 19, Whitman 5 … Sachem has now won its last three games after beating Whitman, 19-5. Jessica Mazliah had a game-high five goals and four assists, while Brooke Basso scored three times and added an assist.

Sachem North baseball: Sachem 4, Central Islip 1 …  Make that 11-2 now for Sachem baseball. Nick Morena recorded nine strikeouts in a three-hit victory for the Flaming Arrows. Steven Foster was 2-for-4 and scored twice.

Sachem East softball: Sachem 9, Patchogue-Medford 2 … Marissa Wilson went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, while Emily Corchia went 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI.

Sachem East boys golf: Sachem 6, Middle Country 3

Sachem East girls golf: Sachem 8, Riverhead 1

Sachem East baseball: Ward Melville 13, Sachem 5

Sachem North softball: Commack 8, Sachem 0

Sachem North boys tennis: Port Jefferson 4, Sachem 3

Sachem East boys tennis: Ward Melville 6, Sachem 1
