Sachem alum Danielle Gresalfi was named Rookie of the Year for the Universal Cheerleaders Association Northeast Region.
This is the same organization that hosts the National Championships in Orlando.
Gresalfi, who was on the cheer team at Sachem North, attends Hofstra University and is a member of the Pride cheer team.
Hofstra’s cheer team took home a UCA title last year.
Gresalfi also won a championship with Sachem cheer.
Coincidentally, her brother also won a championship ring with Sachem football for winning a Long Island championship (see photo).
She won the first cheer national title in Sachem history, while he won the first Long Island title in Sachem history.
