Five from Sachem to compete in Boomer Game

UPDATE: Sachem senior kicker Bryan Morris has been added to the Long Island roster for the Boomer Game as of Wednesday, June 18.

ORIGINAL: Four players from Sachem North’s football team were selected for the annual Empire Challenge all-star football game, pinning Long Island against New York City to benefit the Boomer Esiason Foundation.

Trent Crossan, Malik Pierre, Justin Rivera and Bryan Gresalfi will represent Long Island in the game on June 25 at Hofstra University.

There will be a tailgate in the parking lot at Shuart Stadium from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. leading up to kickoff shortly after.

Sachem athletic director Pete Blieberg is the game coordinator, while Sachem coach Dave Falco is an assistant coach for Long Island and Sachem athletic trainer Mike Wulforst has the same role for Long Island.

Sachem alum and John Glenn coach Dave Shanahan is also an assistant coach this season for the Long Island squad.

Sachem North (including Sachem prior to the split) has had 32 players selected to play in the Boomer Game all-time since the game’s inception in 1996. Sachem North has had at least one player perform in the game every season except 2006 and 2007.
