The Sachem North Interact Club took part in the Ocean Conservancy International Coastal Clean-up, sponsored by Keep Islip Clean, at Lake Ronkonkoma.
As they collected garbage they had to document all of their findings so that the Ocean Conservancy can use their data to track pollution trends to come up with solutions for trash in our waterways.
In all, the Interact Club collected nine garbage bags of trash, a mattress, an over sized tire and an old metal fan.
