Sachem East students will take part in a “Battle of the Belts” event at the high school Friday night as part of National Teen Driver Safety Week.
The event will take place during the Sachem East football game in Farmingville, which begins at 7 p.m.
Students can sign a pledge against texting and driving.
This even raises awareness around the importance of seat belt use for teen drivers is part of the Ford Driving Skills for Life program.
This is sponsored by the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee (GTSC), the Governor’s Highway Safety Association (GHSA) and the Ford Community Foundation.
