During the week of December 8, Lynwood students will join the largest learning event in history and participate in “An Hour of Code”.

This is a global movement reaching tens of millions of students in 180+ countries and Lynwood will highlight their leadership skills and take part.

Lynwood has recently supported an art based movement called S.T.EM-to-S.T.E.A.M., this is an acronym standing for, Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics.

Throughout the year, students and faculty meet for various projects in support of the core subjects and making them practical by adding the elements of design.

One highlight will be working through a website supported by such innovators as Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, and Jeff Wilke, to name a few.

Students will learn the basics about Computer Science and Writing Code. This website is a great resource for students to not only be introduced to some of the most powerful forces in the technological world but will be entertained, informed and hopefully inspired to learn to write code for themselves. Code.org is a great introduction to this important and ever evolving industry that is always in need of new pioneers, or Lynwood Leaders.
