Sachem North senior Amanda Flynn committed earlier this school year to play college field hockey at LIU Post.

Flynn, who plans to major in health sciences and become a physician’s assistant, chose the Pioneers over Adelphi and Ramapo College in New Jersey.

Sachem North’s field hockey team had an outstanding season and came a long way in a short amount of time to be one of the better teams in Suffolk County. Flynn was a major reason for the success.

“I couldn’t be more proud of the progress our team has made over the past few years,” she said. “It has been a privilege to be a two-year captain of Sachem North field hockey.”

She’ll certainly miss putting on the black and gold, but is grateful for the opportunities she had in Lake Ronkonkoma.

“Sachem has so much to offer in the classroom and out on the field,” she said. “I take a sense of pride every time I put on a jersey with Sachem across my chest. It’s a feeling like no other.”
