Twelve business students from Sachem High School North participated in Plainview Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School’s fourth annual “POB Challenge”.

The competition brings together top business students from across Long Island. The POB Challenge was a huge success and allowed students to compete in an entrepreneurial event which also helped prepare them for DECA.

Eight out of 24 groups made it to the finals and three Sachem North students were finalists; seniors Travis Gibbs, Ellora LaCarruba, and Jade Dowling.

Each team was given the same topic once they arrived and they only had one hour to prepare a presentation that was presented to a panel of judges.

Students’ only resources were their knowledge of business and two textbooks that POB provided.

Additionally, they had a guest speaker who spoke to the students about his entrepreneurial experiences and his successful business career.  Students also participated in leadership activities led by the POB Business Honor Society Executive Board.
