On queue, Sachem alum Dalton Crossan provided the necessary spark for New Hampshire to beat Tennessee Chattanooga in the FCS quarterfinals on Friday night.

Twice Crossan had kick returns of more than 40 yards that put the Wildcats in prime scoring position. The first was to open scoring in the first quarter, the second was timely enough to be the eventual go-ahead score for New Hampshire in a 35-30 victory.

Top-ranked New Hampshire advances to the FCS semifinals for the second straight season. They play either Eastern Washington or Illinois State in the first NCAA semifinal game ever played at Cowell Stadium on either Friday, Dec. 19 or Saturday, Dec. 20.

Crossan had 3 carries for 19 yards, 1 reception for 5 yards and 3 kick returns for 120 yards.

He has combined for 356 all-purpose yards in the last two playoff games.
