Sachem North senior Anthony DiMatteo has earned a wildcard bid to the New York State Wrestling Tournament.
DiMatteo will be the only wrestler from Sachem North at the tournament in Albany this year.
After losing in the 220-pound Suffolk County championship at Hofstra on Sunday night, DiMatteo still wrestled well enough to make it with the wildcard selection.
The state tournament kicks off on February 27 at Times Union Center.
Sachem East’s Sean Dee and Jakob Restrepo both won their respective county title bouts and will also be at the state tournament.
