Sachem East beat Bellport, 2-0, in the first round of the Suffolk County Class AA playoffs on Saturday.
Bellport is coached by former legendary Sachem coach Bill Batewell. Sachem East coach Kevin Schnupp played for Batewell when he attended Sachem High School.
Tim Quinn recorded seven strikeouts in a 76-pitch two-hitter to lead the No. 7 Arrows (15-6) over No. 16 Bellport.
Anthony Siroka hit an RBI-single in the first to give Sachem East the eventual win.
Next up for the Arrows is No. 10 Half Hollow Hills East, who beat Riverhead, 10-0, in the first round.
