The Sachem HS East Tri-M Music Honor Society members held their annual Practice-A-Thon to support Long Island Cares; The Harry Chapin Food Bank late in the 2014-2015 school year.
Harry Chapin was a Long Islander and, of course, a musician, so the Tri-M decided this would be the perfect organization to support.
Students asked family and friends to sponsor them by the hour as they practiced for one week this spring. The Tri-M raised almost $1100 this year.
Tri-M Officers Zack Perez; Cheyenne Moreno; Kenny Chiu; Sunny Balkin and Ryan Leone continued the push for community service and took part in raising almost $4,500 in the last three years.
