4th grader wins Merrimac School logo contest

FullSizeRenderJared Mitchell, a fourth grade student at Merrimac Elementary School, is the winner of a school-wide logo contest.

His logo design reflects Merrimac’s commitment to leadership, the 7 Habits, and the school’s “Leader in Me” process.

“After receiving many creative entries we selected Jared’s logo to be the symbol for our school,” said Merrimac Principal Veronica DeCicco. “It symbolizes our school’s  transformation. Jared chose two lighthouses in his drawing because Merrimac serves as a guide to others as they undergo changes which enable students to reach their leadership potential.”

The logo also includes the Sachem arrow and the word “MAGIC” because special things happen in Merrimac every day.

Merrimac’s PTA has purchased a logo t-shirt for all students and staff.
