Dale Lemery, who served as the first principal of Cayuga Elementary School, died on February 4 in Ormond Beach, Fla. He was 79.
Formerly of Bayport, N.Y., Lemery served the Sachem Central School District for 27 years.
A graduate of Cortland State, he was an avid golfer, sailor and Syracuse fan. He is also a past commodore of the Sayville Yacht Club.
Lemery was predeceased by his first wife, Margaret. He leaves behind his wife of 25 years, Maryann, family members Eric, Meghan, Michelle and Christine and is also survived by six grandchildren and his sister, Sharon.
