Sachem may have only produced one NBA product in its vast history (Jeff Ruland), but alum John Ford has had a fun ride playing basketball professionally the last two years.

A 2010 alumnus of Sachem North, Ford played college basketball at Drew University before embarking on a barnstorming journey with the World All-Stars. He was formerly with the Washington Generals.

If you’re not familiar with the Generals, they were the opponents of the world famous Harlem Globetrotters from 1952 to 2015.

The World All-Stars are an exhibition basketball team playing in various cities at major venues weekly throughout the year.

While Ford was unable to speak about his time with the Generals, one look at his social pages gives you some insight into his life. He’s having a blast playing at some major arenas from the college and pro ranks.

Ford was a three-year varsity player at Sachem North. He averaged 20 points and seven rebounds per game, and was a first team All-Conference selection as a senior.
