Sachem East alum Katie Doherty, one of the top players in the history of Sachem basketball, was named to the women’s basketball Academic All-Patriot League Team, as voted on by the conference’s media relations directors, according to her school, Holy Cross.

To be eligible for the Academic All-Patriot League team, a student-athlete must possess at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key player in his/her sport. This is the first time Doherty has earned Academic All-Patriot League accolades.
Doherty, an economics major with a 3.84 grade-point average, started in all 29 games this season for Holy Cross and averaged 8.7 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game, while shooting 37.5 percent from the field.
