Three question with Sachem North’s Lisha Dash

Screen-shot-2012-11-07-at-11.27.34-AMWe spoke with Sachem North student Lisha Dash about her experiences in the school district. She hopes to be a psychologist in the future and is a member of the Student Ambassador’s Workshop and Mentor Club.

What does it mean for you to attend Sachem?

“It means the world and beyond for me to go to school in the Sachem District. I’ve been in this district since kindergarten. I feel that Sachem schools are definitely one of a kind. A diverse community being able to come together as one and perfectly interact with each other is quite amazing in my eyes. Attending Sachem is a blessing for me, and I look forward to graduating Sachem North. In the future, I will definitely be a proud Sachem alumni.”

What’s your favorite class?

“My favorite class to attend and teacher is my Spanish class with Mrs. Groe. I’ve never met a more humble, inspiring, motivational, and determined (the list goes on!) woman in my life until I’ve been in class with Mrs. Groe. Not only does she make learning fun, but the care that Mrs. Groe has for her students is outstanding. Mrs. Groe has impacted me greatly. Whenever I make a decision, I always think to myself, ‘Would Mrs. Groe approve?’ I truly am blessed to have her as a teacher and see her as a motherly figure. Lastly, something interesting about me is that I look out for others before I look out for myself. I’m a very selfless person that treats everyone like family.”
