Sachem North alum Danielle Gresalfi was recently honored at the New York State Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance conference in Verona, N.Y.
Gresalfi, who is studying for her Master’s in health and physical education at Hofstra University, was named as the New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance Major of the Year.
“Krossfit for Kids is a program that offers students a fun, communal atmosphere for working out,” Gresalfi said. “It focuses on body weight exercises for younger students and offers games that can be beneficial for weight training.”
For the presentation, a program was created that included information about Krossfit for Kids and different ideas that teachers can use in the classroom.
Gresalfi helped Sachem and Hofstra win national cheer titles and Team USA win a Gold Medal. She also previously presented at the Nassau County Zone Awards conference earlier this year as well.
