Isabella Martinalbert, a junior at Sachem North, has been awarded a Disney Summer of Service grant through YSA (Youth Service America).
The grant will support Isabella’s “Kiss Away Cancer craft fair” fundraiser for the Avon 39 the Walk to End Breast Cancer. The craft fair supported a craft fair held this past weekend in the community.
There were more than 60 vendors as well as a concession stand and crafts for the children.
Martinalbert is one of 340 young leaders across the country awarded a $500 Disney Summer of Service grant to organize projects to help make their communities healthier and stronger.
Grantees are mobilizing their peers through awareness, service, advocacy, and philanthropic activities in the hopes that they will continue to work toward finding positive solutions to impact their community.
