Sachem North sisters are nationally ranked skiers

The top Mogul skiers in the USA will be heading to Steamboat, CO this March for the U.S. Freestyle Moguls Championship, two of which are the Loyst sisters at Sachem High School North, Jamie a freshman, and Rachel a senior. They will be skiing against Olympic athletes and members of the U.S. ski team.

Jamie will be the youngest competitor to make nationals!

The Loyst sisters are considered ‘weekend warriors’ as it is unusual for students outside ski academies to achieve this exceptional level, only training weekends.

Their strong work ethic, athletic ability, and dedication to the sport has earned them top achievements, placing top in the Eastern Championship, representing the Stratton Vermont Freestyle Ski Team, the largest freestyle program in the country.

Both Loyst sisters are competing in the Junior Olympics held in Sun Valley Idaho and the Nationals in Colorado.
