Sachem North ready for Euro Challenge

Sachem North’s Euro Challenge team held two rehearsal sessions at the high school on Thursday in preparation for its preliminary round of the Euro Challenge Championships in New York City later this month.

The Euro Challenge is a program launched by the Delegation of the European Union in the United States in partnership with The Moody’s Foundation and with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York serving as program advisor.

The program is supported by BNP Paribas, Credit Suisse, and major universities. This competition has been an exciting educational opportunity for our students as they have learned an extraordinary amount on the European economy and the single currency, the euro.

Our team’s challenge has been to solve Italy’s high unemployment problem and after thorough research and analysis, our team is ready to present their suggestions for policy change.

Our last team advanced into the national top 25 and competed at the Federal Reserve! This year’s group is not only out to prove we are the best program on Long Island, but to also show we are the finest team in the nation.
