Brittany Christiansen graduated from Sachem East in 2011 as one of the track and field program’s top throwers.
She took her skills to Slippery Rock University where she set program records in the weight throw and hammer throw, and has since settled down in a teaching and coaching role in Hampton, VA.
Aside from teaching elementary Physical Education/Health at Luther W. Machen Elementary School in the Hampton School district, she is also the boys’ varsity volleyball coach and winter/spring boys and girls varsity throwing coach at Kecoughtan High.
The Newport News resident is also engaged to Brian Day of Wantagh, N.Y., and their wedding date is in June 2018.
