Sachem North alum Chris Biryla has been named as a captain for the football team at St. John Fisher College.
Biryla, who was a member of Sachem’s 2013 Long Island championship team, is going into his senior season.

Biryla had a breakout junior season in 2016 that saw him rack up 58 total takes including 14 tackles for a loss.
The Holbrook native came away with two interceptions on the season and forced one fumble overall.
His biggest moment came in a 68-40 win over Hartwick after he broke through to block a kick on special teams.
The senior safety notched a career-high 11 tackles against Morrisville last season and came away with nine stops on two different occasions.
The Cardinals open the season September 2 at Washington and Jefferson College.
