Sachem East senior and All-American Lauren Harris will miss her high school graduation because she will be competing at Junior Nationals in Sacramento on Friday.
Harris, who is looking to break more records and end her high school career on yet another high note, graduated officially during the school’s ceremony rehearsal on Monday morning.
She was recognized on a stage at the football field in front of her classmates, administrators, coaches and family.
Harris graduates as one of the top athletes in Sachem history, and the most decorated and successful high school race walkers in American history.
