Flaming Arrows grab 38-20 victory over Central Islip and improve to 2-3 on the season.

Sachem North capped a memorable week of homecoming festivities by beating Central Islip 38-20 on Friday, October 6 at Fred Fusaro Alumni Stadium.

Students spent all week in spirit mode, celebrating each day with a different theme from American attire to famous duos, and Sachem pride.

On Thursday evening the gymnasium was packed with more than 800 students who enjoyed a homecoming dance. Homecoming royalty was selected and the senior honorees were Chris Eagler as King, Julia Boris as Queen and Sean Melious as Jester.

Fans at Friday evening’s game were treated to performances by the marching band, Arrowettes and cheerleader squads. During halftime, this year’s Sachem Athletic Hall of Fame induction class was honored.

Sachem’s football team was led by quarterback Nick Gambino, who had a career-high 170 passing yards, and also two rushing touchdowns. Javal Stanton also had a career-high 195 rushing yards on 22 carries and scored two touchdowns.
