Multiple student-athletes from the cross-country teams at Sachem East and Sachem North competed at the New York State championships.
Sachem North’s Jordyn McDonnell had the third best finish of any Section XI runner and placed No. 34 overall with a time of 20:59.00 at Wayne Central School upstate.
“Outstanding focus, effort, race tactics and finish,” said Sachem North coach Alex Young via Twitter.
Other runners finishing in the top 50 in the state from Sachem were Rachel Ruggiero, who finished at No. 46 in a time of 21:19.00, and Lindsey Dodenhoff, who was right behind at 47 in 21:20.30. Both go to Sachem East.
Sachem East finished No. 7 as a team in the state.
