Alum leads Sachem rival to historic moment on the court
For the first time since 1990 Ward Melville boys basketball has captured a league championship.
You normally wouldn’t read a sentence like that on this website, except that the Patriots also happen to be coached by Sachem alum, Alex Piccirillo.
The Patriots beat Sachem East on Friday night to clinch the league title and await their seed and opponent in the upcoming Section XI playoffs.
Brackets will be released early this week.
