The legendary racewalking career for Michta-Coffey continues
For the ninth straight time, Maria Michta-Coffey has won a USATF indoor 3,000-meter racewalk title.
Michta-Coffey, a Sachem alum from the Class of 2004, and the district’s only alumnus to compete in the Olympics, won this recent race in Albuquerque, N.M.
Michta-Coffey is also an inductee of the Sachem Athletic Hall of Fame and Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame.
