Sachem Alum, U.S. Navy Petty Officer Saves Life

Sachem alum saves life of choking child

A Sachem North alum from the Class of 2005 saved a student who was choking while working on a recruiting post for the U.S. Navy.

Jonathan Bragaglia, stationed on the east end of Long Island and manning a table at Pierson High School in Sag Harbor, was approached by a high school student in distress. He gave her the Heimlich maneuver, which was a success.

“Pretty much all the training kicked in and I knew exactly what to do,” said Bragaglia, on a story posted on the Defense Visual Information Distribution Service.
