Former Sachem East quarterback wracks up another honor, using football as passion and point of influence
Sachem alum Ryan Leone is padding his college resume with honors now.
A recognizable figure on and off the field from his days at Sachem East, Leone is a senior at the University of Pennsylvania and is the recipient of the 2019 Thouron Award.
This honor is presented to seniors at the university to pursue graduate studies in the United Kingdom and is eligible for tuition and stipends for up to two years while earning a graduate degree, according to UPenn.
His work to foster a relationship between athletes and the classroom led to the honor. He is also a three-year letterwinner on the spring football team.
