Jack Cusumano Breaks Sachem North Wins Record at Section XI Championships

In a historic moment at the Section XI Wrestling Championships at Stony Brook University, Sachem North senior Jack Cusumano etched his name into the program’s record books by becoming the winningest wrestler in school history.

Competing in the opening round on Thursday, Cusumano notched his 137th career victory, surpassing the long-standing mark of 135 wins set by Chris Iorio two decades ago. He picked up two wins on Saturday. The milestone achievement came before a raucous Section XI crowd and teammates.

Cusumano’s consistency and competitiveness over his varsity career have made him one of the most prolific grapplers in Sachem North history, anchoring the Arrows lineup throughout multiple league and county tournaments. His new total of 137 career wins now stands atop the program’s all-time list, breaking a mark that had stood for 20 years.

Cusumano isn’t finished yet. He has at least one more chance to add to his win total this weekend as he continues in the county tournament on Sunday.
