Sachem East field hockey did it again, winning its second title this week, capturing a Class A Long Island championship after beating Nassau County rival Massapequa, 1-0, at Berner Middle School.
This is Sachem East’s sixth Long Island championship in school history and its first since 2019.
Senior Kayla Richter scored the game-winning goal at 9:54 of the third quarter.
The 18-0 Sachem East will play in the NYSPHSAA tournament on Saturday, November 16, Guilderland High in the state semis.
