Week 2 Sachem North football preview

Trent Crossan hands the ball off to Malik Pierre against Lindenhurst in Week 1.

Sachem North hosts Bay Shore Friday night for its home opener under the lights at Fred Fusaro Alumni Stadium.

Sachem (1-0) comes into the game having beaten Lindenhurst (0-1) last week in the 2012 road opener. The Flaming Arrows saw more than 400 yards of offensive production from its backfield that is orchestrated by Trent Crossan, Tyler Andreassi, Malik Pierre and Anthony Ross. Don’t forget about the young pup Kevin Bragaglia, who shined in his first varsity start as a sophomore against the Bulldogs as well.

Bay Shore (0-1) managed to let up a 27-point lead and lost 30-27 to Longwood (1-0) last week, dropping a wild game in the final minutes. As evident in the early part of that game, quarterback Jake Sheets and wide receivers McKinley Skinner and Joel Nunez have the ability to score on the fly.

The Marauders will have a chip on their shoulder having lost such a close game, but it’s Sachem North at home during Friday Night Lights, so the Flaming Arrows have their own chip as well.

Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
