Gatelot homecoming activities in full swing

As Sachem North’s homecoming approaches this Friday, Gatelot Elementary is showing exuberant school spirit already and has an action packed week ahead.

On Friday, the school held “Bleacher Mania” where students learned the Sachem fight song, parade chants and made decorations for the homecoming parade.

Sachem Sachem Spirit Day is Friday, September 21. Students and staff are asked to wear their Sachem gear and keep an eye out for “Waddles,” the Gatelot mascot, as he gets shows school spirit by greeting Gatelot Students at morning arrival.

Sachem North’s “Cheer for a Day” participants will perform. A time is TBD. Sachem North’s homecoming game starts at 7:30 p.m. against Patchogue-Medford on Friday night. Sachem’s 1977 Suffolk County champion football team will be honored that night as well.

Children who want to independently decorate their own wagons for the parade to be apart of the Gatelot’s float, can walk alongside. Theme can either be patriotic or show Sachem spirit. For more information email Lucille Mankowich at lulumank@optonline.net.
