Sachem North boys soccer upset Newfield, 1-0, in the first round of the Suffolk County Class AA playoffs Friday afternoon.
The 12th-seeded Flaming Arrows (10-7) were led by Brandon Arango, who scored the game-winning goal in the 71st minute of the game over No. 5 Newfield.
Sachem will host No. 13 Smithtown West on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the county quarterfinals.
Harrison Weilbacher assisted on Arango’s goal. Sachem goalie Brian Armstrong recorded four saves in the shutout victory.
