Ford brothers star in Drew U. hoops video

Brian (l.) and John Ford go Gangnam Style in Drew University hoops video.

Just when you thought you had enough of the Gangnam Style craze, Sachem alums and brothers Brian and John Ford are there to make you love it again.

The Brothers Ford play basketball at Drew University in Madison, N.J. and what better way to market the upcoming 2012-13 season than by having a YouTube video titled “It’s Basketball Season at Drew University,” featuring them dancing in the locker room with the team mascot, while head coach Darryl Keckler looks for his guards.

Keckler eventually walks into the locker room and stops the fun. Both brothers and the mascot are in sync with the music – hand motions and all – and sport shades, just as Korean rapper PSY does in his video that has garnered hundreds of millions of views and caught world wide acclaim within the last few months. If you know anything about the Fords, this video is not a surprise. Both were very involved with the student body at Sachem High School North – Brian graduated in 2011 and John in 2010 – and were big supporters of the Flaming Arrows athletic program, even when they weren’t representing the Black & Gold themselves on the court. Brian was a vocal leader of the Pow Wow, a group that developed during major Sachem sporting events to cheer their peers on and get rowdy (see photo below).
