Sachem North’s Rachel Heymach won the Suffolk County 1-meter diving final last weekend at Suffolk County Community College Brentwood.
In other Sachem swimming news, Sachem East freshman Kianna Papele broke her own school record in the 50-meter freestyle (:25.21) and placed sixth overall in the race. In the 100-meter breast stroke, she placed fifth and also broke her school record (109.27).
There were also a handful of personal bests for Sachem East, including the 200-meter medley relay comprised of Abigail Groffmann, Papele, Carla Palma and Ariel Tsia placed eighth (1:59.92); the 200-meter free relay of Papele, Briana Dowd, Marisa Pandolfo and Tsia placed eighth(1:47.30) and the 400-meter free relay of Groffmann, Dowd, Pandolfo and Palma placed eighth(3:59.81).
Sachem East finished ninth overall, while Sachem North finished 15th.
