The awards continue to pile up for Sachem East’s Katie Trombetta. The same week she was named a field hockey All-American, she was also named Newsday’s Long Island Player of the Year.

“It’s been a great year, but I know I haven’t reached my potential yet,” Trombetta told Newsday.

We’ve listed Trombetta’s career successes many times, but it never gets old:

  • Two-time All-American
  • Two-time New York State champion
  • Three-time All-Long Island selection
  • Selected to USA U-17 squad
  • Led Long Island in scoring this year with 40 points (25 goals)
  • Verbally committed to play at University of Michigan
