Members of the Dowling men’s lacrosse team received their Division II National Championship rings this week.
A number of Sachem alums from both Sachem East and Sachem North were on the team last season. These players include Vite DeMola, Sr. ATT/MID from Sachem East, and James Kenny, So. DEF and Billy Richardson, Jr. ATT from Sachem North.
“Getting our rings last night and spending time with everyone at the ring ceremony was a chance to re-live one of the best moments of our lives,” said DeMola, a senior captain last season.
Dowling, who has the top ranking in pre-season polls in Lacrosse Magazine this year for Division II, beat Limestone, 11-10, thanks to DeMola’s four-goal, two-assist performance at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass last May.
“There is no better way to end a season than winning it all, doing it as a senior and that being your last game just makes it that much sweeter,” said DeMola. “That win will be something my teammates and I can share together for the rest of our lives.”
