Donlevy has record-setting state swim meet

Sachem North’s James Donlevy placed second in the state in the 100 free with a school record time of 45.71 at the state championship meet in Rochester this weekend.

This earned him All-American consideration status.  He also was the top qualifier in the 50 free going into the finals.  His leadoff time in the 200 free relay of 20.97 earns him All American status as well.

Donlevy, Greg Coleman, Kyle Beigay and Chris Tutone placed fifth in the state in the 200 free relay breaking a school record with a time of 1:28.59.

The most impressive result was the 400 free relay consisting of Donlevy, Coleman, Chris Penteck and Tutone with a time of 3:14.49. This broke a Sachem record that was 32 years old!.

“These guys did awesome this weekend and I am so proud of them,” said Sachem coach Larry Saposnick. “They are all seniors and I will miss them very much.”
