Sachem East will shoot for its first Long Island championship in girls basketball since 2010 when it plays Massapequa on Friday night in the Class AA title game.
At this point there are no surprises about the Flaming Arrows. Katie Doherty and Kathleen Everson lead the show and there is a strong supporting cast that has led Sachem to a Suffolk County title and are one win away from the state tournament.
As for Massapequa, Sachem will have to pay attention to Lauren Van Buren, Morgan Roessler and Melanie Hingher.
