Voter Registration Information

The following is information regarding the voter registration process to vote on Tuesday, May 21 on the Sachem school budget and in the board of education election. Here’s what you need to know:

*Registration to vote on the Sachem Central School District budget and in the Board of Education is in-person only at all the schools and at district office during normal business hours. 

*There are two special voter registrations: Wednesday, May 8 from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. in the Board of Education Room at Samoset and Saturday, May 11 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the District Clerk’s Office (Room 105) at Samoset.  If you are already registered with the Suffolk County Board of Elections and have voted in the past four years in a general election, you do not need to re-register. 

*In order to register, you must be a U.S. citizen, 18 years of age at the time of the vote, and have lived at your present address for at least 30 days prior to the election.
 
*The person wishing to register must do so in person and bring identification with them.
 
*The last day to register is May 14 at 3:00 p.m.
 
*Absentee ballots: In order to request an absentee ballot, a person must be a registered voter and complete the application for an absentee ballot. These applications are available from the District Clerk’s office or click here application for absentee ballot. Complete the form and submit to the District Clerk.
